Leader of St Helens Council, Councillor David Baines paid a visit to our delivery site in St Helens today.
Genesis wanted to highlight some of the work that we do with learners within the local area, and to also discuss future development and partnership work within St Helens and Knowsley.
The Councillor spent some time with learners who were working towards their Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications.
Genesis hosted a very busy and successful jobs fair in The Venue, Huyton, as part of our sucessful employer engagement strategy.
With over 250 people coming through the door to meet the 20 employers all with live vacancies. Our dedicated 'Here to Help' team ensured all employers and learners were supported with all their needs.
Due to the success and turnout we will be hosting another one in the New Year.
Genesis held a celebratory event after a sucessful 12 months of delivery and winning an Adult Education bid within the Liverpool City Region.
We were honoured to have the presence of Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram, MP Marie Rimmer (St Helens South & Whiston) and leader of St Helens Council David Baines, as well as a selection of learners who have made significant progress in completing courses with Genesis.
Genesis have successfully been approved to deliver qualifications under the awarding body SFEDI Awards.
Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative Awards (SFEDI) was founded in 2007 to support the development of a truly entrepreneurial culture and economy within the UK, becoming the first dedicated Awarding Organisation specialising in enterprise and business support
SFEDI's main focus is on raising the quality of enterprising skills by identifying and delivering programmes of support which increase start up and survival rates among small and micro business communities.
SFEDI Awards is the UK’s only specialised Awarding Organisation developing and delivering enterprise and enterprise support qualifications. The qualifications are built on extensive research and are designed for those who wish to start and grow their own business, and those who work to support them.
Matthew completed a 2 week Retail Knowledge and Customer Service course. He updated his CV and had a mock interview to help him feel more confident before being put forward to one of our employers.
He was then successful at securing a job with Wetherspoons.
